Bios: Developing your Story

SPEAKERS:


Adriana Martínez Barrón
is currently Vice President of Film at Eva Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment. Previously she was a Manager at Netflix where she oversaw a large slate of films and TV series in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Spain. She worked as Creative Executive at Eugenio Derbez's 3Pas Studios where she oversaw the feature Como es Él (Pantalion) and the first season of LOL: Laugh Out Loud Mexico (Amazon).

Winnie Carrillo earned a screenwriting degree at Emerson College before returning to Guatemala to work as a commercial producer, overseeing 40+ productions for Central and South America. She earned an M.F.A from USC's Peter Stark Producing Program. As a Creative Executive at MGM’s Feature Development, she is responsible for sourcing new material for the studio and working on the day-to-day development of the film slate. She’s working on the next segments of The Adams Family, Tomb Raider and Legally Blonde, as well as new original features.

 

Greta Talia Fuentes is Director of Development at MACRO, a multi-platform media company representing the voice and perspectives of Black people and people of color. In her current position, she identifies, cultivates and shepherds a multicultural slate of projects from development through production. Fuentes executive produced Blast Beat which premiered at Sundance 2020, was associate producer of Tigertail which premiered on Netflix and was co-producer for Blue Bayou which Focus Features will be releasing in Fall 2021. A proud Latina and champion of Latinx voices, the bilingual first-generation Nicaraguan-American was born and raised in LA and started her career in the storied WME mailroom; and later became Partner Charles D. King’s Assistant in the Motion Picture Literary Department. When King announced his departure from WME to launch MACRO in January of 2015, Fuentes joined him along with Poppy Hanks and Michael Palank to become part of MACRO’s inaugural team. She is also a Board Member for The Latin Tracking Board (LATB), an entertainment industry organization that supports Latinx talent in the executive ranks. Fuentes received her Bachelor’s Degree in World Arts and Cultures with a minor in Visual and Performing Arts Education from UCLA.

Jesus Hernandez
has a BFA in Film Directing from the University of Arts in Havana. During his career, he has worked with directors like Fernando Perez, Fatih Akin, Paddy Breathnach, Michelle Memran, and Eugene Jarecki. He's coordinated the Documentary Fortnight at MoMA and worked at the Nantucket Film Festival. He has founded Bach Media, a company with several projects in the USA and Cuba. In 2019 he founded Latin Reel, a social impact initiative focused on addressing equity, diversity, and inclusion through film.
