Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF), one of the most prestigious events in Latino cinema, took place May 31 – June 4, 2023 at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre and TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood, CA. The lineup included feature films, short films, episodic works, animation, master classes, panels, networking sessions and musical performances.

LALIFF with open with Searchlight Pictures' Flamin' Hot, directed by Eva Longoria, and close with A24's Problemista, written and directed by Julio Torres. More than 80 films, 19 world premieres, 100 Youth Cinema Project student films, an expanded industry program, and 15 music performances will be part of the 22nd Edition of LALIFF.

The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival's Inclusion Fellowship Back for a Third Year

LALIFF announced today the call for submissions for its third annual LALIFF Inclusion Fellowship which aims to champion underrepresented filmmakers within the Latino community. With continued support from Netflix’s Fund for Creative Equity, ten visionary self-identifying Indigenous Latino and Afro/Black Latino directors will each be awarded $30,000 for the production of their short films.

LALIFF announced today the ten visionary Afro Latino and Indigenous Latino directors that were selected for its Latinx Inclusion Fellowship, sponsored by Netflix. The Fellowship, now in its second year, was created to develop extensive and inclusive opportunities for underrepresented groups within the Latino community.

Academy Award®-nominated actor Edward James Olmos, founder of the Latino Film Institute, announced today that LALIFF will host a Special Preview Screening of Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming In the Heights, the highly-anticipated film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit Broadway musical from director Jon M. Chu, on Friday June 4th 2021. In addition, LALIFF and the Tribeca Festival will partner as a celebration of their 20th anniversaries.
