Moderated by Kate Sanchez of the podcast "But Why Tho", the pair will parse out the process of pitching shows, especially those with a strong Latinx perspective. Diego Molano is the creator of Cartoon Network’s Imagen Award-nominated animated series, Victor and Valentino. Based on his original short featured in the studio’s global Artists Program, Victor and Valentino is a supernatural adventure comedy that follows two half-brothers who spend a summer with their grandma in Monte Macabre, a small and mysterious town, where the myths and legends of Mesoamerican folklore come to life.
Jayro Giron is a Director of Series at Warner Bros. Animation helping develop new animated series. He helped guide the creative direction of shows such as Bugs Bunny Builders, Little Ellen, and The Tom And Jerry Show. He also leads an outreach initiative for the studio where he meets and collaborates with artists, writers, and producers in and out of the studio for future development opportunities.
Kate Sánchez is a Chicana pop culture critic, podcaster, and Co-Founder & EIC of But Why Tho? A Geek Community. She is also a member of the Austin Film Critics Association, a Rotten Tomatoes Certified Critic and was a judge for the 2020 Crunchyroll Awards. While she reviews nearly every kind of media from games to manga and film, her favorite genres are horror, sci-fi, and just about anything anime, Western animation, and long-form television. Sánchez is also a CORE Member of the Latinx Pop Lab at the University of Texas at Austin.
