Maria, a recent breast-cancer survivor, learns to find beauty, strength and humor in her new body as she gets ready for bed one night.
Maria, a breast-cancer survivor, has recently recovered from a mastectomy and subsequent breast implant. Tonight, as she gets ready for bed, she struggles to see her new body as something beautiful. But as she explores and rediscovers herself, she realizes her scars are a symbol of strength. With the support of her husband she learns to love the woman she sees in the mirror.
Olivia Marie Valdez, Einar Soler Fernández and Sandra Afonso Rodríguez co-directed "The Weight of It." Olivia is a stop motion filmmaker, previously she was a salesperson in creative industries from the United States. Einar tried everything from 2D illustration to cooking until she found his passion: stop motion filmmaking. Sandra is an illustrator, painter, and stop motion filmmaker from Barcelona with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations. The trio met at BAU's Stop Motion Program.
